My two cents: Bring the watch back to Breitling and ask them to fix what has become broken. Stop messing with the watch because it's definitely not making things better. .

It’s clear as day different. I’ve had plenty of issues with my Breitling Navitimer but those were all due to the service center here messing things up. My aerospace is going strong for 10 years without any issues.
