goldfinger 1187. Lately I've noticed that my automatic Omega Constellation sometimes stops overnight - once stopped, it won't restart without crown winding. Once it has even stopped on my wrist, while sitting at a desk. If I fully wind it by the crown, it runs fine for the full power reserve. An excellent summary/collection. Great work. I can offer a couple of points: Regarding the 65mm-cased 53.7 rattrapante (beautiful!) movements in chronographs (e.g. the MG1155/201 1130 Rattr and MG6713 1131 Rattr) you show these movements as being 18,000 bph – they are in fact 36,000 bph.
Sources online say the T’s were added to the dials around 1965. Omega phased out radium around 62 in favour of tritium due to safety issues. However, they were not bound by law to use Ts to signify that tritium was the energy source used until around mid 64. Therefore, some dials between 62-64 used tritium but had no T's. Sep 24, 2024. When did Omega stop using tritium? Was it at the same as Rolex? (which I believe was 1997-98) The reason I ask is that I own a quartz Omega 2541.80 (the GoldenEye watch) that has a serial number dating to 1995. But the lume on the dial and hands glows after charging with light. Especially the Olympic timers is one of the holy grail in Omega timers but they are very expensive. It is my grail but i havent got one yet. I the more affordable department are the industrial, medical and sports timers. Nothing special in the horological way. They are well documented in the Omega "A Journey Through Time" where it is possible .
Omega Seamaster: Need Help Confirming Legitimacy. Jennifer N. Aug 27, 2020 Vintage Omega Watches Help, Discussion and Advice. BrianPankow Aug 31, 2020. 27. 2K. I have a Omega stop watch that I acquired from relative. The age is early 70's and I believe I spotted a similiar stop watch on a 1973 UK catalogue listed. So with the reference number inside the caseback, you can consult the Omega Vintage Database (OVDB) to identify the model of the watch. Using this as an example: When entered on OVDB, a reference number of 135.007 (we ignore the -63 date stamp), will reveal this: Notes on the OVDB: The OVDB is only a guide. Chronograph movements are fitted with several eccentric screws for fine-adjusting the clearance between wheels. If the movement has recently been serviced, and the watch runs strongly with good timing when the chrono function is disengaged, I suspect that the clearance is too tight (so the friction is large).
I would imagine that there are Omega stop watch catalogues available on line with a thorough googling. I'd call it "industrial" rather than "engineer's". These decimal dials are commonly used where processes are involved rather than laps of a race-track because they make calculations based on time easier.
